Chapter Thirty-Five…

Chapter 35: Guilty Pleasure.

Lila’s entire life seems to be based on guilty pleasure. Much like this blog.

Caution: I’ve made use of the ‘f’ word once again in this chapter…

Kayla’s visit was pleasant and uneventful. Darius sat on the sofa, while his daughter played with blocks and play-doh.

She chattered as she played, sounding cute.

Lila thought about Isabella, wondering if she’d be anything like Kayla. A feeling of excitement emerged, and then the baby kicked; bringing a smile to Lila’s face.

Lila watched Kayla, feeling those old familiar twinges… of guilt. That guilt overshadowed her excitement.

How could I have hurt her? How could I have hurt Darius? Then again, if I hadn’t, then Nick would’ve been hurt and Isabella would’ve grown up without her daddy…

She choked back those feelings and gazed at Darius.

“Nice hair, Edward.”

“Thank you, BELLA.”

“So… how’ve you been?”

“Great.” His tone seemed a little cold. Bitter perhaps?

“Oh, good. Me too,” Lila replied, her eyes following Kayla as she headed toward her.

Kayla glanced up at Jeanette; then veered over to Lila.

“Mommy?” Kayla said.

After a moment, Lila smiled at her and then scooped her up. She kissed her blonde head.

The toddler sat on Lila’s thighs, excitedly hitting and kicking.

Ouch,” Lila muttered, but then smiled again.

Kayla looked at Darius as he cooed at her.

“How’s my baby guwl? Daddy love his baby guwl,” he said.

Lila stifled laughter.

She climbed off Lila’s lap and sat on the floor. Meanwhile, the nurse headed off to the bathroom.

Darius’ gaze returned to Lila.

Her heart skipped a beat; why, she wasn’t sure. It wasn’t necessarily from love. After all, he looked… angry or something.

He stood up and started walking toward her.

“Gotta go. It’s almost Kayla’s nap time,” he said.

A chilly smile etched his face. “So you’re not too much of an invalid to stand, are you?” he asked.

Her heart skipped a beat again, this time from anger.

“Fuck you,” she said standing.

“When?”

She wanted to hit him. So much for guilt.

She recovered long enough to embrace him. Then, abruptly, he smothered her lips with his.

He pinned her arms to her side, kissing her.

Mmm… stop, Darius,” she muttered, squirming out of his grasp.

“You are so gorgeous,” he breathed.

Lila backed away.

“Please come back,” he pleaded. “I still love you. I thought I could live without you, but—”

Just then, Jeanette exited the bathroom.

“Can we talk about this another time?” Lila hissed with shifty eyes.

Jeanette shuffled back to her chair.

Lila’s eyes bored into Darius, willing him to stay quiet.

Then she looked away.

“Lila—”

“Shh,” she hushed.

Darius turned and fetched Kayla.

“Good-bye, Lila,” he said.

“Bye.” …and if you keep kissing me like that, you’re not welcome to come back. Kayla is, but you’re not.

He strolled to the foyer.

On the way out, Darius saw Travis.

“Why did you kiss Lila?” he asked.

“You saw that?”

Travis nodded.

“Make sure you tell your father,” Darius said as he left. Once again, that evil trait shined through; flickering with fiendish delight.

The following afternoon, Travis planned to do exactly what Darius suggested…

He mounted the stairs to the second floor. Muffled sounds from a television gradually became audible.

His father was doing stretches while watching TV.

“Daddy! Guess what Darius did!” Travis enthused.

“Not now, Travis. I’m doing my exercises,” he said.

“But Daaaddeeeeee,” he whined.

“I’m busy right now. Tell me later.”

Travis stood and stared at him.

“Okay, fine. What did Darius do?” Nick grumbled, panting from the exercises.

“He… kissed Lila.”

“What? I didn’t hear you over the television.”

“Never mind,” he muttered.

“What?”

Never mind!

When nighttime came, Jeanette finally ventured to chat with Lila.

“How did you manage to meet someone like Nick?” she asked. Lila could see the stars twinkling in Jeanette’s eyes.

Oh, God. Here we go again…

Lila didn’t answer. She didn’t want to answer. She didn’t want to make the same mistake she had with Lexy: make ‘friends’ with a back-stabbing, gold digger. And if Jeanette insisted upon making an arse of herself, then Lila would promptly tell Nick to fire her. Period. Nip it in the bud. End of story. No more Lexy-type drama.

Or was she just jumping to conclusions?

“I’m sorry. Did I say something to offend you?” Jeanette asked.

“No. You didn’t offend me. I’m sorry, I just don’t want to talk about anything personal.”

“Oh, yeah. I understand,” Jeanette replied.

But she stared at Lila for the longest time.

Hmmm…

Once more, that full moon of glowing goodness hovered over Riverview.

…and Lila spoke out of guilt.

“I just feel so bad that we can’t do it anymore,” she said. Hell, she ‘gave’ Darius more affection earlier than she’d been giving to Nick…

“Don’t worry about me, ’cause I’ll be okay,” Nick replied. “Shit, you act like that’s all I ever think about.”

Lila stared at him, smirking.

“Aw, come on. You know I’m not that bad,” he said.

She snickered.

“I’m just happy that you’re finally here,” he added.

They slid down onto the mattress and snuggled.

He kissed her and said, “I love you. I want to marry you as soon as you have the baby.”

“I love you too.”

With wedding chimes and other pleasant thoughts in mind, Lila drifted to the land of Z’s.

Right before falling asleep, however, she asked herself a question; or was it a statement?

I did not enjoy Darius’ kiss. Did I?

No, of course not.

You sure??

That ‘statement’ turned into a full-fledged inner conversation. Then she fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Travis had snuck into the kitchen to write a note to his father.

                                                              …

Travis took another look at the note on the table, then left the room.

It would be awaiting Nick’s arrival in the morning.

  1. 0.0 Travis, you little sneak 😛
Will Lila ever learn? Still it keeps the drama going! Is there a wedding in the future? Maybe not now 😦 Oh well, I loved it as always 🙂

    • lol, hi PlayerRac2 🙂 Yeah, Travis is a sneaky little one. hehe. No, Lila doesn’t learn, haha. Of course, Darius kinda forced the kiss on her and she probably did enjoy it; Lila is only human! Err, a sim. Doesn’t mean she loves Nick any less. >_>

And you’ll just have to find out! (if there’s a wedding in their future) 😛

      Thanks for commenting! 😀

  2. Naughty little Travis, I think he only wants to protect his dad and Lila though. He didn’t want her to leave in the first place. Poor Lila, still feeling torn over what to do, it doesn’t help that Darius kissed her either. Kayla is such a little sweetie. Can’t wait to see what Nick’s reaction is when he finds the note from Travis. 🙂

    • Hi Kim! very naughty kid indeed, almost as naughty as his father… anyhow, and good point, he does want to protect his dad. He probably just wants Darius to get into ‘trouble’ for kissing Lila (lol, I’m trying to see this from a kid’s POV). Yeah, that’s Darius’ fault for stealing a kiss. 😛 Not Lila’s. Yeah, Kayla’s a cutie. I can’t wait till Isabella gets to be a toddler in the story. 😀 Yeah, maybe Nick’s reaction won’t be that bad… who knows. But we’ll find out soon, hehe…

      Thanks for commenting again! 🙂

  3. Oh, I would give that Travis a spanking! xD I get that he’s only looking out for his dad and Lila, but darn him for being a nosy kid. Lila didn’t ask for that kiss!

Darius has crazy eyes. I think I’d be a little afraid of making him angry. lol

I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next time. I also wanted to say thanks for the nice thank you added to your main page. I really enjoy reading your story and it’s my pleasure to give you extra traffic!

    • Lol, indeed Travis is a brat 😀 then again, most kids are, haha. Well, let’s just say that Travis is at that age…. and will stay that way for the rest of his life, cuz he’s a male.

hehe, i know he has crazy eyes. I made him like that on purpose. Me like my bad boy characters. Me like them mean… lol, seriously though. I did make him like that on purpose. I originally made Darius to be a vampire in my game, that’s why when Lila met him that second time, I had him dressed up like one. 😛

Awwww! Thanks for that! But it’s the LEAST I could do, really. I have so many more readers now, thanx to you guys. 🙂 And I’m sooooo glad you like my stories. 😀

  4. I laughed very hard at the Twilight reference. This was a really nice chapter, but Travis is so naughty!

    • hehehe, yeah I just could NOT resist putting that in there, cause of Darius’ pale skin and new hair do. Also, I originally created Darius to be a vampire, but then changed my mind (oops, already said the same thing above when I replied to Pentameter). 😀

Thanks! I’m so glad you liked it! Yeah, Travis can be a brat, haha. XD
